Friday: Julia ate 11 oz out of a cup!!!! It was mostly juice with only a little bit of whole milk. It was a huge milestone because that's a lot of fluid out of a cup. She also drank 12 oz of formula out of a bottle. 23 total ounces - dang, that's a lot! We did errands (lots of grocery shopping, getting Daddy some clothes at Target) and cleaning.
Saturday: Julia woke up with what looked like pink eye. We were nervous that the doctor wouldn't be open due to the holiday. Lucky us, they were! It wasn't pink eye. It's her constant cold escalating, and her ear infection never cleared from the last round of antibiotics. Upped the antibiotic. Her eye already looks back to normal. R & D came down (it was R's birthday). We played games and ate birthday cake, turkey burgers, chips. It was hottttt, and we don't have A/C. For some reason (the heat, the sick Miss J), we were zapped of energy. S fell asleep by 9pm. I stayed up to watch fireworks on TV, but I couldn't finish watching the fireworks. Aren't we scintillating??? Julia only ate 3/4 of an ounce of formula out of a bottle, and she ate 12 ounces of the juice concoction (juice & milk) out of the cup. Her total intake was low, and almost none of it was formula. That was a bit worrisome.
Sunday: We hung around the house all day, doing pretty much nothing. Thank goodness the temperature came down a bit, and there was a nice breeze. Julia drank 9.5 ounces of the juice/milk concoction out of the cup and 9 ounces of formula out of a bottle. Pretty good overall!
Our strategy with the cup is to slowly increase the amount of whole milk in it as compared to the juice. We're going to keep offering bottles until she's taking 100% milk out of the cup. Note that us offering bottles doesn't mean she's necessarily going to drink them.

We've had Fourth of Julys (and New Years Eves) that sound exactly like yours. My dh in bed by 9 PM and me watching the celebrations on tv. Don't worry. It's just a time in your life. Soon these days will seem like just a brief blip in Miss J's life. I know it doesn't seem like that is even possible now, but it is true. I can't believe how quickly they grow up and how fast time passes!
